Sybase DBA

For our banking client we are currently looking for a Sybase DBA

Start: ASAP

Duration: 6 months + extensions

Location: Zürich

We are looking for candidates with strong experience in Sybase Database (min. 5 years) and at least 3-5 years production support experience.

You will speak fluent English, German is desirable. If you are a team player with a lot of drive, are able to work on multiple tasks and under a lot of pressure - you will be the ideal candidate for our team!

Must have:

- Professional DBA of Sybase 15
- Experience as a Sybase Infrastructure DBA, ideally within the financial sector
- Good knowledge of Linux and Unix operating systems with VERITAS clustering and volume manager
- Knowledge of installing and configuring Sybase Servers
- Good Sybase and basic Scripting language knowledge
- English skills
- Good communication skills
- OnCall readiness

Knowledge which is an advantage:

- Experience with MS SQL 2008 - 2014
- Experience with Oracle RDBMS
- skills and experience in DB Tuning/Optimization
- SAN/NAS Storage
- Virtualization Skills (VM-Ware)

Nice to have:

- ability to build and maintain customer relationship
- experience in writing documentation
- ITIL
