SYBASE ASE/MS SQL SERVER DEVELOPER
On behalf of our client, a leading bank in Zürich, we are looking for a SYBASE ASE/MS SQL SERVER DEVELOPER. Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity with a market leading global company then please have a look at the details:
ROLE:
- Develop and maintain Sybase database queries and stored procedures
- Develop and maintain data feeds to downstream systems and processing of feeds from upstream systems
- Develop and maintain batch jobs written in Linux and Perl scripts
- Provide 3rd level support to end users and 1st/2nd level support team
- Work directly with Traders, business managers and other IT teams without the input of a business analyst or tester on small projects or tasks such as report development or enhancement.
- Maintenance and documentation of database schema
- Documentation of batch jobs and processes
- Development and maintenance of reports and Crystal reporting templates
- Help capture business requirements in the form of User Stories
- Support the test team in testing activities
- Collaborate with off-shore IT development team based in Poland
- Work directly with Business users at all levels on small projects such as report development and enhancements
SKILLS:
- Over 5 years of experience in Sybase ASE or MS SQL
- Expert knowledge of Sybase ASE or MS SQLServer as a developer.
- Ability to performance tune SQL queries and stored procedures.
- Good working knowledge of Linux Shell and Perl Scripting languages
- Banking industry experience
- Fluent in English
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Knowledge of Crystal Reports
- Previous experience of developing IT projects within a banking firm
- Knowledge of Securities Lending, Repo and Collateral trading
- Prior experience of JIRA
- Agile project delivery
- Net C# or VisualBasic knowledge would be advantageous
