Swimming Instructor - Part-Time

Job Title: Level 2 Swimming Instructor

Location: Sharples Leisure Centre, Bolton

Hours:/Shift Pattern: This position is on fixed-term contract, on a part time basis, however flexible working hours including some weekends will be required.

Serco Leisure is looking to appoint a swimming teacher, who will be based at various leisure centres in Bolton.

We are seeking to employ a competent and enthusiastic individual who will drive the current swimming lesson programme.

Purpose of Job / Key Objectives

The Swimming Teacher will have responsibility for the safety and skill advancement of the pupils within their care.

Principal Duties

To instruct individuals or groups in the art of swimming or other associated aquatic activities.

To provide schemes of work and lesson plans relevant to the instruction being undertaken.

To ensure the safe use and storage of any equipment required during a lesson.

To record information relevant to each lesson content and any other associated information

To provide instruction in line with the current Swim Life Learn to Swim scheme.

To attend badge assessment sessions as required.

To promote and support the Serco Swim Life Scheme.

To undertake any task as required by the Line Manager

Qualification Level

The person appointed will hold a professional swimming qualification equivalent to the Amateur Swimming Association Level 2 and hold a relevant lifesaving award equivalent to the National Pool Lifeguard.

Experience Level

You will have proven experience with a ASA level 2 swimming teacher qualification.

Extensive and up to date knowledge of current swim teaching practices

Knowledge of current safety requirements for management of swimming lessons
