Job purpose
To assist the Area Surveyor in the professional and technical management of building fabric maintenance and improvement schemes, generally within a defined geographical area.

Accountabilities
*Deputise when required for Area Surveyor and supervise Surveyors and Clerical staff
*Receive reports of defects and requests for improvements/extensions, visit the site, prepare reports and specifications, estimate the cost including drawings, obtain tenders, prepare contract documents, supervise works in progress, deal with variations to contract, agree and settle final accounts
*Manage sub-consultants and main contractor and keep client informed of financial and time progress
*Act as Planning Supervisor on projects falling within the remit of the Construction, Design and Management Regulations including preparing safety plan and safety file.
*Receive programmes of work from Area Surveyor, instigate work and keep Area Surveyor and Client informed on progress
*Carry out Priced Condition Surveys to enable the preparation of Planned Maintenance Programmes

Functional competencies
Considerable experience of procurement and supervision of maintenance projects in diagnosing building defects and in financial control of projects.
Experience in the use of Windows and Microsoft Office products and Autocad 2002 (Desirable)

Qualifications, training or other requirements
Up-to-date training in Health and Safety aspects of building matters.
Minimum of HNC in building
Minimum of 4 GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English
Clean current UK driving licence
