Surface Finish Technician 2

RAF Marham is home to a range of diverse units, including the Headquarters of the RAF`s Tornado GR Force.

You will report to the Surface Finish Site Manager and are responsible for the undertaking painting and finishing tasks as directed by the shift supervisor.

Your main duties will include:

Undertaking a range of Media removal paint stripping operations: inclusive of paint stripping operations on Ground Support Equipment, Motor Transport, Aircraft and its associated components.

Comply with all Quality, Health, Safety, Environmental and Aviation safety requirements.

Ensuring all applicable health and safety procedures are followed including COSHH and Risk assessment directives and that the necessary controls are in place.

Processing work according to schedule set by the Production Manager. Ensuring all tasks are completed in accordance with the quality policy, procedures and standards required.

General maintenance of documentation and input into the local computerised task tracking system

Notify section leaders of any anomalies, failures, defects, corrosion etc which may give rise to a poor quality product and/or endanger Aviation Safety.

Key Skills/Experience

You will be an experienced Surface Finish media stripping operative who has a proven track record within a busy paint facility who delivers consistent trade excellence.

You will demonstrate a willingness to support and assist the Site Manager with enthusiasm for learning new skills and undertaking designated tasks are all necessary attributes.

You will demonstrate excellent man-management and communication skills.

You have the ability to input work into an integrated computerised database

Essential Requirements

Previous experience in a painting or engineering environment is essential.

Qualified media paint stripping operative.

Due to the location of this role, personal transport is essential

Attention to detail and an eye for quality

Proven awareness of health and safety

Works well as part of a team
