Support Worker

Our client is a school based in south Oxfordshire. They are currently building a new team of support workers, senior support workers and looking for workers to apply for bank staff positions.

The school, based in Abingdon supports young people between 11 and 19 years old with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, associated with LDD or other complex needs.

For this role, you will need:

- At least 1 year's experience in care.
- At least 6 months experience with young people with challenging behaviour.
- Basic training in health and social care (manual handling, fire safety, health and safety etc).
- The drive to support others.
- The tenacity to handle persistently challenging behaviour.
- A commitment to the assistance you are providing.

You would benefit from:

- NVQ 2 or 3 training.
- Team Teach Qualification.
- Experience with a mental health background.
- A driver's license (less than 3 points)

You have options:

- The unit is looking to fill in 5 permanent staff to upgrade the facility and to take on new service users.
- The unit requires committed individuals looking to work a mixture of hours.
- Permanent worker: 37.5 hours.
- Temporary worker: 15 - 25 hours throughout the week (required to be on call during the day).
- Bank worker: 0 hours plus, working ad hoc shifts throughout the week at your convenience.

Pay rates are between 8.00 and 11.00 per hour.
