Support Network Solution Architect - Logistik/Transport

Task:
The Network Solution Architects defines solutions & develops standards based on the available
technology and the Infrastructure capabilities / building block framework. The position needs to be filled
by an experienced network specialist with broad knowledge about all technology area and specialist
knowledge in at least two key areas. The individual selected needs to provide leadership in the network
area and work with other IS functions (especially other infrastructure teams / infrastructure project
managers ), outsourcing partners and business functions to define technical solutions aligned to the
global technology plan.

- Design & develop WAN building blocks / standards
- Design datacenter LAN / WAN solutions
- Design voice standards (capabilities / building blocks)
- Develop & document voice technology plan
- Support key strategic projects in the network area ( e.g. LAN refresh, small site solutions, CATIA

refresh etc.)
- Design DMZ and Firewall/Proxy solutions
- Govern solution designs of external suppliers & deliver quality solutions with external partners

Requirements (Must have):
- University degree in Computer Science / IS or equivalent experiences with at least 10 years experiences in network projects / standard development for large organisations
- Proven record of delivering standard architectural designs in the network area – especially in the

following areas:
- Small site designs
- Data center LANs & networks
- Internet breakout
- WAN standard designs (site & data centre)
- Worked with architectural frameworks in the solution area (e.g. setup of capability models etc.)
- Strong technology focus with in depth knowledge of network relevant technology / concepts and

providers in the LAN / WAN / Voice area
- Strong understanding of technologies marketplace
- Knowledge of key WAN/LAN suppliers
- Key HW / SW vendors (min. Juniper / Cisco)
- Key voice HW/SW suppliers
- Experience with the deployment of global technology solutions in a matrix organization
- Experience with ITIL process model
- Proven project or programme management skills
