One of our clients, a leading company in the financial sector in Zurich is looking to hire a Support Engineer with UNIX, SQL and Control-M.
DESCRIPTION:
The Support Engineer is an integral part of the Production Support team and needs to be insure a full resolution of each incident, work with complex systems, provide support to internal and external business clients and insuring customer satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Resolving technical issues for multiple applications, analyze root causes and coordinate with other team members
- Troubleshooting of application issues in a broad range of environments (UNIX, Oracle, Java) with different troubleshooting methods
- Prioritizing issues according to severity and accurate reporting of encountered issues and resolution
- Reading and reverse engineering applications and writing documentation based on the findings
- Collaborate with other teams in order to ensure client issue resolution
IDEAL PROFILE:
- Experience with Oracle database, extensive SQL skills and knowledge of PL/SQL
- Able to read SQL Loader files and an understanding of the load process
- Strong knowledge of UNIX commands and familiarity with UNIX Shell Scripting
- Computer Science/Engineering or related fields degree
- 3-5 years' experience technical support or engineering
- Familiarity with Java 2 Language and programming concepts is an advantage
- Experience BMC Control-M is an advantage
- Fluent written and spoken English
