SUPPORT ENGINEER, 1ST LEVEL

Contract position in Zürich, scheduled for 12months +

Experis is currently looking for a German and English speaking Support Engineer for one of our Global clients here in Switzerland. This will be a contract position based in the heart of Zürich and will be for 12 months +.

In this position you will perform 1st level help desk support, simple to complex installations of desktop/laptop resources, general software/hardware troubleshooting as well as Desk-side support services. You will need to have some familiarity with server/networking equipment, however it won't be necessary for you to have any certificate in this. Additionally you will be adding or changing requirements of peripherals & device drivers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provides quality customer service and support for designated equipment.
- Escalates problems to appropriate next level of support when necessary.
- Monitors assigned service calls to ensure timely completion.
- Ensures all time reporting, expense reporting, and other required reports are accurate and submitted on time.
- Meets/exceeds various service levels as established by assignment (calls per day, ETA's, on-time response, administrative call closure, customer satisfaction). Responsible for ensuring on-going maintenance and development of positive customer relationships with all business partners and customers

QUALIFICATIONS

- Minimum of one (1) year direct PC and Laptop Hardware Service experience. PC OEM certifications a plus.
- In pursuit of or possession of Associate's Degree in Electronics, formal PC hardware service courses, or similar military related training Comp TIA, A+ Certification (Hardware & Software). Proficiency in desktop support of Clients' individual PCs. Minimum operating system knowledge includes: Microsoft Windows.
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP Networking, hubs and Switches
- Knowledge of CAT 5 & CAT 3 cabling termination
- Support of computer networks, as directed by a Level II or III Engineer/Technician
- Lifting - Must be able to lift weight as per regional guidelines from the floor to desktop height
