Support Engineer

Application Support Engineer is being sought for global financial organisation. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining 100% uptime on the system as well as making sure that we are always delivering within our SLA agreements. We design, plan, build, test and implement new technical solutions. We support the Business with operation related investigations, verifying, planning and conduct application upgrades, optimizing application performance, documentation, managing changes, business continuity planning and testing. The Application Engineer works closely with other parts of the global organization and virtual teams are commonly formed to be able to effectively implement new requirements, investigate issues etc. The team provides support 24 hours 7 days a week. Now we search for a person with a broad experience of Application Management of large complex platforms within the Financial Industry.

The job includes: Being part of all activities regarding the applications such as handling of incoming issues, incident solving, requirements, launch of new versions. Design, plan and implement changes to our existing systems and implement new solutions. Plan and execute non-functional and performance testing. Acting as specialist in operational issues, questions and requirements. Taking part in different projects regarding current and new customers. Maintain operational documentation needed for second line operation. Managing projects and independently carry out our parts of large implementation projects.

Job Skills Required:

Bachelor of Science or equivalent. Broad technology base and wide range technology knowledge from infrastructure to functionality. At least 3-5 years' work experience from operation of large and complex platforms. Excellent language skills in written and spoken English and Swedish. Excellent skills in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of the financial industry. ITIL-Awareness.

Required technology skills: (Good knowledge and experience on): - Network and infrastructure - SQL databases (MS SQL Server, MySQL, PostGreSQL) - Oracle database - Scripting languages (Shellscripting Windows and Linux, SQL, Perl, PHP) - General Operating Systems knowledge (Linux, Windows Server, Solaris) Good to have: - BMC ITSM - Knowledge of large, Real Time transaction systems. - Application Servers (JBoss, Tomcat) - Support experience - Documentation experience - Microsoft Visio - Functional and non-functional testing experience
