Position Title: Support Analyst

Duration: Contract- 3 months

Location: Harrisburg, PA

Our client is seeking a Support Analyst for a 3 month contract position in Harrisburg, PA. The Support Analyst will handle not only problems with equipment such as computers, printers, copiers, fax, and scanners but will serve as the local eyes, ears, and arms of IT to help with network and application troubleshooting. Individuals will also need to be self-motivated and travel when necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Individual will be responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, upgrading and repairing desktop/laptop computers, printers and other technology equipment and for providing first level support for technology issues for local and regional customers.
- Maintain local technology equipment, provide computer training, office and business application training, work with local users to determine how technology can better be leveraged, and serve as an interface and advocate for the business users to the rest of IT.
- Work effectively with remote IT groups such as PC/LAN, Network, Server, Application Development and Information Security to assist in support of local technology in their various areas.
- Individual will be familiar with office and business application software and be able to provide basic training in those applications for end users. They will be familiar with application and system security controls and processes as well as business needs of individual users.
- Individual will travel to regional client sites for technical support and systems deployments.
- Assist with large scale upgrades and deployments at periodic user group meetings within the Division and may travel to participate in such activities on other Divisions. They will be responsible for coordinating such activities within the Division they support, working with other PC/LAN and IT groups as necessary.
- Respond to telephone calls and e-mail messages from customers looking for technical help. Diagnose and resolve problems, coordinating as necessary with other support groups.
- Provide IT with feedback on products and services and will be consulted by other areas within IT for information about the customer's technical issues or concerns.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

- 4-year College degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field experience preferred.
- Thorough understanding of Microsoft Windows XP Professional, basic understanding of Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise
- Thorough understanding of Microsoft Office 2003, 2007, and 2010.
- Ability to create, modify and troubleshoot MS Access databases all versions
- Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Active Directory
- Thorough understanding of Microsoft networking technologies (DNS, WINS, DHCP, etc.)
- Thorough understanding of Ethernet based TCP/IP Networking Technologies
- Thorough understanding of Wireless, Copper and Fiber transmission technologies.
- Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity problems.
- Ability to upgrade desktop and laptop computers with RAM, hard drives, network interface cards, etc
- Basic understanding of PC imaging technologies including Ghost and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit
- Basic understanding of application technologies
- Good understanding of Microsoft server systems including file, print and security structures
- Basic understanding of CAD (Computer Aided Drafting)
- Basic understanding of security controls and systems
- Working knowledge and ability to troubleshoot PC hardware and software
- Ability to analyze business problems and help define technical solutions
