Supply Support Engineer

SUPPLY SUPPORT ENGINEER - Def Stan 00-600, Def Con 117, ILS, stores accountancy

A Supply Support Engineer with Def Stan 00-600, Def Con 117, and ILS skills/experience is required to work on a six month contract with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Portsmouth

This is an exciting opportunity to join our clients team within the role of Supply Support Engineer, the ideal candidate will have previous experience within a similar role and will have knowledge of stores accountancy.

OVERVIEW OF THE SUPPLY SUPPORT ENGINEER CONTRACT ROLE

- Assisting the Supply Support Lead in developing Supply Support requirements and processes.

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE SUPPLY SUPPORT ENGINEER

- Working knowledge of Def Stan 00-600, Def Con 117 and in-service support requirements.
- Good knowledge of Supply Support and its interactions with the wider ILS (Integrated Logistics Support aspects and MoD infrastructure.
- Understanding and experience of Warship Design, Build and Support activities.
- Knowledge of Initial Provisioning and Inventory Optimisation ranging and scaling activities.
- Produce and maintain the Initial Provisioning Lists with supporting evidence.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities to reduce costs and enhance the effectiveness of both Supply Support activities and the overall Project.
- Aid in the development of the Spares Reports/Support and Test Equipment Reports/Insurance Spares Reports that validates the level of Spares identified.
- Identify Packaging, handling, storage and transportation requirements relating to spare and Support and Test Equipment.

ADDITIONAL KEY SKILLS

- Ability to analyse Supplier data and understand its impact across the Supply Support function and the broader project.
- Ability to develop and implement the Supply Support requirements to deliver the optimum solution to the customer.
- Ability to work across the Projects requirement sets, understanding each functions requirements.
- Strong self-motivation.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to liaise and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders.

KEY INTERPERSONAL/BEHAVIOURAL SKILLS

- Good communication skills enabling technical discussions with internal and external customers, colleagues and suppliers.
- Works constructively both within a team and across the whole business to ensure that team objectives are met.
- Good influencing and interpersonal skills with the ability to form strong relationships with customer and suppliers.

The role is based in Portsmouth, Hampshire - commutable from Southampton, Cowes, Isle of Wight, Salisbury, Winchester, Andover, Basingstoke, Guildford, Aldershot, Crawley, Horsham, Brighton, Worthing, Chichester
