Outsource UK Ltd are actively seeking to recruit a Supply chain manager for a 12 month contract role on behalf of a client.

THE CLIENT:

A LEADING ENGINEERING AND DEFENCE ORGANISATION

THE JOB:

To provide world-class sourcing, contract management and value management capability to achieve increased product or service quality, reduced total cost of ownership (TCO) and enhanced operating efficiencies across a range of services in support of RN Ship repair.

Working within the Fleet Services (Operations) Supply Chain team and aligned to the wider organisational sourcing strategy will seek to drive synergies/opportunities across the end to end Maritime Services supply chain. Responsible for the sourcing, tendering and award of Service Provision Long Term Agreements collaborating where appropriate to support a global approach/options when going to market.

Development and implementation of robust strategies which deliver incremental and sustainable 'value for money', market leading service delivery and the facilitation of competitive advantage at an organisation level.

Ensure that all procurement activity delivers value for money through the planned and skilful management of the services agreements.

Supports daily business driven operations through the Line of Business lead. Seen as an exemplar of professional Supply Chain practice, delivering high quality solutions to meet the needs of the organisation.

COMPANY/INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE:

- Commercial experience across Services/Categories
- Demonstrable track record of financial delivery supported with metrics
- Demonstrable track record of delivering and maintaining stakeholder and supplier relationships
- Good business acumen, with a knowledge of category business models and approaches or techniques necessary to achieve best in class deals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Full membership of MCIPS or working towards this
- Preferable degree level qualification

KEY OUTPUTS/DELIVERABLES:

SAFETY:

- Ensure all contracts align to Business Strategy for SHE
- Measures supplier performance against SHE KPI's

QUALITY:

- Demonstrates an ethos of continuous improvement through relationships with suppliers
- Measures supplier performance against Quality KPI's

COST:

- Delivers financial targets on service agreement
- Plans, develops and negotiates the clauses and terms of a transaction or contractual relationship for the mutual benefit of BAE and the supplier
- Analysis, Problem Solving and Creativity - analyses and draws the appropriate conclusions from financial and other data. Compares multiple sources of data to recommend the correct course of actions. Seeks out and applies new approaches to solve problems and drive improvement.

DELIVERY:

- Ensures that the service agreements show a positive impact on the Business operating performance an bottom line contribution
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers
- Supports in the delivery of the Supply Chain vision, objectives and strategies
- Considers innovative alternatives to supplier solutions
- Builds and maintains relationships with peers within BAE Systems and Suppliers providing early insight into spend and benefit delivery opportunities, supplier sourcing activities and stakeholder procurement expectations.
- Delivers status reports for identified categories.
- Expanding Supply Chain influence across the business and the effective communication of key category management plans ensuring fast and effective decision making, maximising fiscal and annualised benefit delivery.
- Acting effectively upon stakeholder feedback, improving procurement performance and the perception of Supply Chain (Operations) across the business.
