Supply Chain Lead Opportunity East Midland Based Working as a member of the senior management team and operating closely with the current buyer and MRP team, the new Supply Chain Manager role has been created to provide transactional and administrative support, and ensure the smooth and transparent movement of goods through my client at the right cost, quality and quantity, on time. The candidate will also play a pivotal role in shaping the development of the company's strategies, policies and practices, to build long term competitive advantage and operational excellence. Leading by example, you will ensure the development of an on time, cost effective supply chain strategy with improved management reporting and the implementation of selected Lean principles. Specific organisational targets that the candidate will play a key role in achieving: 1. Providing the customer with the delivery they require 2. Maintaining and increasing margin through low cost sourcing 3. The seamless movement of the special bushing business from the US through to the UK 4. Growing and diversifying the current product range The role: * Implementing systems to track and communicate the movement of goods throughout the group. * To add value to the overall Client offering by reducing lead times * To maintain and build upon long-term relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders. * Monitor and maintain stock levels using computer databases and sales patterns, executing a demand management process. * Increase the supplier network in line with our BSI processes * Persistently work at keeping costs down and maintaining margin * Suggesting and implementing continuous improvement processes * Communicating, administering and managing the movement of information from suppliers through the Group, including pricing, literature and changes in terms. * Working alongside sales and marketing in new product development (NPD). * Work with both the UK/US sales and marketing teams to build a firm understanding of competitor delivery and price levels, and action strategies for maintaining competitive advantage.
