SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER

ROLE PURPOSE

My client, a world leading pharmaceutical organisation is currently recruiting for a supply chain manager to work across the whole of Europe, however based out of London. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing robust supply plans to ensure that there is the appropriate level of inventory available in the MMW/LSP to support sales of product within their Therapy area for a specified group of European markets.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Responsible for the execution of the agreed standard supply chain management processes in alignment with agreed planning calendar.
- Review the 30+ month baseline statistical forecast and make necessary adjustments based upon the market intelligence supplied by the LOC sales and marketing teams.
- Work with the relevant sales and marketing or financial/business analysts to develop the market intelligence that needs to be applied to the statistical forecast to produce an accurate estimate of the sales volumes.
- Effectively communicate planned requirements with supply sites and proactively prevent issues from occurring. Work to resolve any supply/demands imbalances should they arise.
- Work with the markets in their span of responsibility to develop an appreciation of the commercial supply chain and the capability of supplier to respond to changes in demand.
- Provide training to staff within the markets in the use of supply chain management processes relevant to their role.
- Develop and manage effective relationships with supply sites, MMW staff, market contacts (FD, Sales and Marketing), QA, regulatory affairs and supply chain compliance staff.
- Highlight and resolve supply issues at SCIM level 1 and keep commercial stakeholders informed of status and progress. Escalate any unresolved issues to Therapy Supply Chain Director for resolution at SCIM level 2 & 3.
- Manage the repacking of stock affected by a regulatory change to ensure continuity of supply and minimize any associated costs.
- Support the implementation of pack changes by determining the strategy for the phase in/phase out of packs to ensure continuity of supply and minimize the cost of write offs.
- Work with GMS, Commercial (markets & PCoEs) and Regulatory to ensure that adequate inventory is available to support the on time launch and post launch sales of New Products.
- Support the LOCs in the preparation third party contracts to ensure they take into account the supply chain constraints/opportunities that will improve the chances of securing the bid and minimize the impact of penalties.
- Agree final supply plan with manufacturing sites to minimize the write off of stock during any product discontinuation, divestment or pack change.
- Work with the LOCs to determine what opportunities exist for minimizing the write off of stock that is approaching its expiry date.
- Work with the supply sites and LOCs to establish 'Customer Service Agreements' and Service Level Agreements' that secure supply with an appropriate balance between risk and working capital investment.
- Operate in accordance with each supply site's Customer Service Agreement, Technical Terms of Supply, Global and Supply Chain Hub Standard Operating Procedures.
- Monitor and deliver KPI's across the markets for which the Therapy Supply chain manager is responsible.
- Ensure that planning parameters in the relevant systems are maintained accurately and updated with any change is the customer service agreement or service level agreements reached with the multi-market warehouses.
- Agree continuous improve initiatives with the therapy supply chain director and execute these plans across the markets for which the therapy supply chain manager is responsible.
- Provide a timely response to any enquiries from the customer service teams and actively support any 'available to promise' processes that are in place with the LOC.

SPECIALISED KNOWLEDGE

- Qualification in supply chain related discipline, logistics, supply management, demand management, operational management (Preferably SAP SCM)
- Good experience in Supply Chain Management.
- Excellent communications skills in English, and preferably fluency in 1 or more additional European Language.
- Experience of working in a supply chain team managing both the sourcing of incoming materials and supply to the customer.
- Strong networking, planning and organisational skills with a demonstrated capability to manage projects or activities in a complex environment.
- Experience in the use of advanced planning systems, ERP systems such as SAP, Microsoft Excel and other problem solving packages.
