Supplier Quality Engineer Job

SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in COLUMBIA, SC

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Minimum 2 years' experience in quality in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field and/or a minimum of applicable experience
- Proven knowledge of Quality Systems such as PFMEA, DFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow, Gage R&R, Capability Studies, Supplier Auditing, and Product Change Control are required.
- Ability to travel independently (15%-20% travel expected)
- ASQ CQE and/or CMQ/OE certification preferred
- Six Sigma GB or BB training preferred and Lean Manufacturing training preferred
- Previous Supplier Quality Engineering experience preferred

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Lead/facilitate/participate internal/external continuous improvement projects to reduce warranty, scrap, rework, and downtime by reducing supplier defects
- Conduct routine audits at suppliers to insure compliance to Trane Global Supplier Quality Manual
- Validate and stabilize supplier processes through auditing, error-proofing, and project identification
- Perform root cause analysis/investigations for supplier defects affecting production processes
- Write and manage Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs)
- Support Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) by reviewing/conducting FAIs, Capability Assessments, Gage R & Rs, Control Plans, PFMEAs, and any other qualifications
- Maintain and report supplier metrics on a monthly basis

- Must be able to take the initiative and act as agent for change
- Must be team-oriented with ability to bring people together, lead and direct in the development of specific goals and action plans in support of operating objectives
- Must possess excellent PC and analytical skills including a strong mathematical aptitude
