Supplier Quality Engineer Job

There is a SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER needed for a 12 month contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Grove City, PA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- In this role you will follow an individual work plan, meet day-to-day short-term objectives and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
- Provide leadership to drive growth in business cooperation between company and supplier base
- Act as the technical focal point for supplier activities directed toward process control and quality assurance of business components
- Establish a structured approach for consistency and adherence to quality procedures and requirements
- Work closely with various divisions of Infrastructure businesses to conduct First Piece Qualification (FPQ), quality surveillance, and capacity audits
- Assist in the supplier approval process including manufacturing, technology, and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) risk analysis
- Track and work on Request For Quotation (RFQ's) and new business opportunities
- Drive continuous improvement of supplier's quality, cycle, and delivery performance through Six Sigma
- Work closely with Sourcing, Manufacturing, and Engineering to eliminate roadblocks and communication barriers that may affect quality and delivery requirements

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least five (5) years of experience in a Sourcing Quality role)
- Experience with PPAP qualification process for new parts with approved suppliers.
- Supplier auditing experience
- Experience with Precision Machining and Castings
- Competency using a variety of measuring devices (pin mics, calipers, micometers)
- Competency reading blueprints
- Willingness and ability to travel as necessary 10%-15%

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Prior experience in interpretation of blueprints/specifications, metrology, and manufacturing process planning/evaluation
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work in cross-functional, global team environment
