My client, a leading automotive manufacturer, based in Warwickshire, are looking to recruit a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their Manufacturing division on a long-term contract basis.

Supplier Quality Engineer - Supplier Parts Quality is part of the Engine Manufacturing Plant Quality Function.

The department provides a direct service to the Manufacturing Team to prevent or minimise the impact of supplier quality issues on the manufacturing process and vehicles. The department provides the link to the supply base driving robust and timely containment of issues whilst leading and supporting robust problem resolution.

This role offers for a talented and enthusiastic individual the great opportunity to 'deep dive' into quality concerns and to improve supplier performance.

Key Responsibilities:
Resolve product concerns through a thorough root cause analysis, an immediate implementation of containment action(s) and a timely Supplier verification of the permanent corrective action.
They will manage and co-ordinate cross-functional working teams as required to improve supplier related quality issues.
The successful candidate will be expected to visit UK based suppliers to assist in problem solving and validate solutions.
The role will require daily attendance of PCPA, FTT and Sub Systems team reviews in order to take responsibility for identified supplier issues.

The individual will also be expected to supervise hourly grade associates, containment company staff and supplier representatives as required.

The successful candidate will be responsible, lead and assist implementation of robust containments and deliver and drive suppliers towards fully validated problem resolution.

Skills Required:
Full clean driving licence
Proven problem-solving ability and can demonstrate working knowledge of problem solving methodologies
Demonstrable knowledge of and experience in Vehicle Manufacturing
Ideally educated to degree level in a technical or business discipline
Understanding of Six Sigma methodology is an advantage
Excellent written and verbal communication skills providing the ability to represent the SPQ function at senior level meetings
Ability to understand complex issues and to clearly communicate key messages
Meticulous organisation and planning skills
Enthusiasm and drive, commitment and confidence to achieve goals of team and self with minimal supervision
SAP knowledge
Ability to question the norm and introduce change
