Our client is a rapidly growing Boston area robotics company that is revolutionizing supply chain operations. Their systems use hundreds of mobile robots to automate distribution centers, dramatically increasing both productivity and flexibility. Customers include national retailers, large catalog operators, E-commerce and other companies that ship direct to consumers, businesses and retail stores.

Currently this company is seeking a highly qualified Supplier Quality Engineer. The Supplier Quality Engineer provides quality assurance support for the Supply Chain. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational and problem solving skills both in a team and independently environment. The candidate must be accustomed to working independently in a fast-paced dynamic environment demonstrating a high level of drive. S/He is responsible for evaluating suppliers'systems, processes and quality controls. SQE will conduct supplier audits, first article inspections at suppliers, supplier evaluation and selection as well as participating in strategic supplier management. S/He must effectively communicate and build working relationships with suppliers as well as internal organizations. Must also demonstrate attention to detail and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. The Supplier Quality Engineer will work with suppliers to continuously improve performance, implement process controls, and develop Quality Assurance plans. This position may involve up to 75% travel to suppliers for troubleshooting and quality audits.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- At least 5 years' experience in supplier quality engineering in a manufacturing environment, including electromechanical assembly
- Proven success driving resolution of supplier quality issues
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Gage R&Rs
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Familiarity with engineering change processes and technical documentation, including CAD drawings with geometric dimensioning and tolerance
- Experience with plastic injection molding, casting, sheet metal forming, and/or CNC machining operations
- Experience with root cause analysis, statistical process control, failure mode and effects analysis, control plans, and supplier auditing and assessment
- Experience managing supplier corrective action requests, 8D
- Familiar with ISO9001 or equivalent standards

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Experience with a PLM or product data management (PDM) application (Agile, etc.)
- Experience with robotics and/or electronics manufacturing
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (Oracle, SAP, or Syteline)
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and/or Certified Quality Auditor
- Experience with Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and Theory of Constraints
- Experience with Solidworks
