Owns contracts as well as the commercial & operational working relationships with key suppliers to ensure contractual commitments are delivered. Working across Technology, defining & agreeing a supplier governance framework & an agreed relationship map between ICT & supplier organisations. Holds the BAU budget for contracts & is accountable for spend validation & authorisation.
Key Skills/Experience
* experienced IT professional with a background in working with complex multiple out sourced suppliers.
* experience in financial commercial modelling,contract management & supplier relationship management
* understanding of the organisation's IT/Information Systems plans, business objectives & some awareness of comparable organisations.
* aware of Government financial accounting treatments.
* operate comfortably at senior levels in a variety of situations.
* strong communications, relationship building, negotiation & influencing skills.
* analytical & creative approach to problem solving.
* absorb new technical, commercial & business concepts, & have demonstrable experience
* demonstrate up to date knowledge of the organisation's policy framework, organisational relationships, business processes, reporting procedures, & existing & planned information systems & services.
Key Accountabilities
* Supporting contract Senior Responsible Officers providing assurance that contracts are being well managed, owning Contract Management Plans & supplying management information as required
* Reviewing major suppliers' service delivery contracts, ensuring performance & delivery costs are as agreed, & challenging them on future service improvements & efficiency savings.
* Acting as subject matter expert on designated IT suppliers acting as key supplier reference point for contractual, commercial & IT strategy & capabilities.
* Acting as the custodian of the supplier relationship & stakeholder plan.
* Leading the Supplier Value Assessments activity undertaken by Technology with the support & input of other Technology functions including coordination of reviews & meetings.
* Conducting formal assessment of supplier relationship & act as the primary communication channel with the supplier.
* Owning the supplier Governance process as detailed in the supplier contract, or in line with changing business needs.
* Working with Contract & Commercial Management to optimise contractual agreements with a focus on better for less & compliance with contractual service obligations.
* Working with Contract & Commercial Management to track & record all contractual changes to ensure that ICT has a current & accurate view on contract scope & charging mechanisms.
* Assessing impact upon cost base of any sourcing activity or change within the service model
* Conducting reviews of current sourcing strategy & any future changeswe welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
