Supervisor

Long Term Contract Assignment for a UNIT SUPERVISOR with a minimum of nine (9) years of power plant experience including power plant control room and equipment such as boilers, turbines, scrubber and auxiliary equipment to generate steam and electricity. Requires a minimum of five (5) years experience supervising technical or operations personnel. ASOPE certification or ability to become certified is a plus. This location is in Up-State New York and will pay per diem for qualified candidates.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Responsible for operating an 80 MW power plant control room and equipment such as boilers, turbines, scrubber and auxiliary equipment to generate steam and electricity.
- Supervise all personnel on assigned rotating shift to ensure safe and efficient operation of the plant in accordance with plant safety and operational procedures and guidelines.
- Must understand and ensure all plant equipment and systems are operating in accordance with applicable standard operating procedures and manufacturers' recommendations.
- Responsible for monitoring operating conditions and observing pressure, temperature, flow and status indications on panel to verify specified operations of the combustion control systems, feedwater, turbine, generator, scrubber, fuel system and all auxiliary equipment.

REQUIREMENTS

- Requires an Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and a minimum of five (5) years related experience and/or training; or High School diploma and a minimum of nine (9) years of power plant experience.
- Requires a minimum of five (5) years experience supervising technical or operations personnel.
- Experience with all or any of the following is desired but not required: pulverized coal facility, B&W boilers, Toshiba turbine, Elliott turbine, Alstom dry scrubber system and a RO system
- One (1) year Word/Excel experience required.
- ASOPE certification or ability to become certified in 1-3 years a plus.
- Experience monitoring the operation and material condition of all plant equipment both from the field and from the control room via a distribution control system (DCS).
- Must have a valid drivers license.
