Substation Project Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports the management of the construction of a new 345 kV GIS substation and a new 138 kV substation, including the installation of two new Auto Transformers and work on several associated transmission lines (66 transmission poles & wires).
Reviews safety program requirements of the installation contractor for the project and performs surveillance oversight to observe compliance to safety on the project job site during construction.
Provides oversight to other positions.
Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of project.
Prepares reports for upper management regarding the status of projects.
Provides leadership for project team members and the Project Management process.
Performs a variety of tasks.
Leads and directs the work of others.
Uses knowledge in all aspects of their assignments (construction practices for substations and transmission lines) to verify conformance to the project design documents and utility standards.

SKILLS

Must follow and adhere to Project Management Process and Requirements. PMP Certification Required within 6 months of job assignment.
