Substation Engineer

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS With Substation Controls expertise are needed to create drawings for building high voltage substations. The Engineers will have ABET Degree in Electrical Engineering and have power/utility design experience. The EE will create simulations and prototypes to evaluate preliminary designs and test how a machine, structure or system operates. This is a Long Term Contract position with potential for Direct Hire located in Denver Colorado.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Designs protection schemes for utility substation applications including one-lines, three-lines, AC/DC schematics, I/O lists, and relay settings.
- Create simulations and prototypes to evaluate preliminary designs and test how a machine, structure or system operates.
- Coordinates estimates, scheduled tasks, tracking and other duties to support multiple Substation projects

REQUIREMENTS

- Requires BSEE, Power/utility background, and the skills to create drawings for building high voltage substations
- The EE will have substation controls expertise with general arrangements, one-lines, 3 lines, AC&DC schematics
- Designs and tests components, integrates components to produce final product.
- Monitors quality of products and controls the efficiency of processes.
- Evaluates a design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety.
- Investigates root causes of failures to maintain quality and recommends improvements
