Substance Misuse Nurse - Kent

Our client has a job vacancy for a Substance Misuse Nurse to work in Kent. This vacancy has an initial 3-6 month contract and the pay rate for this role is 18-22 per hour (limited company worker).

Duties:
- Developing therapeutic alliances and effective partnerships to support recovery journeys.
- Working alongside the clinical lead, doctors and NMPs to offer substitute prescribing regimes.
- Helping to improve health and promote recovery from the effects of drug and alcohol use.
- Taking a lead on the local delivery of alcohol specific interventions.
- Conducting assessments of physical dependency using a symptomatic withdrawal scale.
- Using results to determine safe induction to opiate substitute treatments.
- Raising awareness of blood borne viruses, their transmission, treatment and significance of infection.
- Offering health promotion and harm reduction advice and screening alongside other clinical and psychosocial interventions.

Requirements:
All applicants must be a Qualified Nurse, either a Registered Mental Health Nurse or a Registered General Nurse, with a valid up to date NMC pin. Applicants must have at least 2 years recent post registration experience working as a Qualified Nurse and suitable experience working in substance misuse capacities.
