Subsea Riser Specialist

This will be a long term contract opportunity.

My client is currently seeking a Technical Specialist with Expertise in Riser Systems. The job entails conducting finite element analysis of entire subsea riser systems in order to determine the dynamic response of the system. Dynamic loads including waves, currents, vortex induced vibration, and vessel motions. The purpose of the analysis is to determine the design loads of the individual components in the system and the fatigue loading to those same components.

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required, MS or PhD is a plus.
A qualified candidate would have a minimum of 10 years of experience conducting global riser analysis.
The candidate would have a background in riser technology, structural analysis, fatigue, fracture, hydrodynamics, and metocean conditions.
The candidate would be familiar with API 2RD, ISO 13628-7, and DNV OS F201.
The candidate would be familiar with using software such as Riflex, Flexcom, Orcaflex, Shear7, Ansys, and Abaqus.
The candidate would understand the physics behind vortex induced vibration and would know how to estimate stress amplification factors.

Candidate should already be trained and have experience using finite element analysis software such as Ansys or Abaqus.
Additional training and experience with riser analysis software such as Orcaflex, Flexcom, Riflex, or Shear7 is a plus.
Candidate should have training and experience with one or more of the following: strength analysis, sealability analysis, plastic analysis, dynamic analysis, fatigue analysis, fracture mechanics, hydrodynamics, and sea loads on offshore structures.
