Subsea QC Engineer - Aberdeen - 12 month contract - competitive rate

My client, a global Oil & Gas Operator based in Aberdeen is currently recruiting for an experienced Subsea QC Engineer. In this role the successful candidate will lead, organise, manage and control the Quality Control activities performed by the Subsea EPCI contractors and subcontractors for the Mariner Tie-In to Vesterled & Ellon Grant Field Life Extension Projects. These shall include design, procurement, fabrication & manufacturing of all key components such as the Subsea Control System, Umbilical, Spools, Subsea Manifold & Valves and Xmas Trees up to the relevant pre-commissioning/commissioning phases of the Project(s)

MAIN ACTIVITIES:

Develop the overall Project Quality Control Plan for the projects to ensure that the Company standards are met,
Assist the Subsea Project Manager in providing Quality & Verification input to the Project Execution Plans.
Review and approval of the CONTRACTOR's and the CONTRACTOR's principal SUBCONTRACTOR and SUPPLIER Inspection and Test plans.
Co-ordinate the COMPANY quality surveillance/inspection resources (including any Third Party Inspection activities).
Raise and implement Project Quality procedures to include but not limited to Interface management, Document Management, Change Management, Quality Surveillance Control.
Participate in project risk management sessions and identify outstanding risks through the action tracking tool and ensure close out in conjunction with the Risk leader.
Ensure that objectives are met for Quality during design, construction, transport and installation of the overall projects.
Effectively monitor the SI 1996:913 (DCR) Independent Competent Person verification activities and other conformity assessments.
Responsible for the mobilisation, organisation and management of the Quality & Inspection team required to undertake the workscopes.
Ensure the CONTRACTOR's Quality Management Systems are in accordance with company Standards.
Monitor the Derogation register and Non-Conformance registers to ensure that variations to COMPANY rules and standards are treated correctly.
Supervise, co-ordinate and control QA/QC matters for the supply of materials, fabrication, installation, transport and construction for onshore and offshore scopes of works.
Provide effective technical assistance to the Project Team on all QA/QC Risks.
Control and check the specifications, requisitions, design, procedures, manuals etc. for compliance with COMPANY Quality Standards.
Undertake and/or participate in internal and external audits.
Ensure attendance by competent QC & 3rd Party Inspection personnel for all necessary inspections, SIT and FAT when required.
Liaise with Project Manager and Team members on a daily basis providing feedback on performance of CONTRACTOR/SUB-CONTRACTOR.
Responsible for collation and reporting of non-quality costs.
Ensure all quality records and certification is correctly input into ICAPs

Education/experience required:

Engineering degree in a relevant discipline,
Appropriate post-qualification experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control within Oil & Gas Industry,
Experience of application of Quality Assurance/Quality Control systems
Familiar with relevant National and International Codes & Standards as well as company referential
