Structural Engineer

Engineering client is looking for several Civil/Structural Engineers with 10-40+ years of experience in the nuclear power industry. This is a long term Contract Assignment near eastern, Ohio. You must have experience designing structural steel frames, foundations/walls, and composite steel/concrete floors according to AISC- N690, ACI 318 & 349, and AWS codes. Mob, demob, & per diem provided.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- You will design & review civil & structural design packages & calculations in support of maintenance & capital projects on commercial nuclear power plants
- Involved in calculations, evaluations, & reports associated with (1) pipe stress analysis, (2) design and analysis of pipe & conduit supports, (3) evaluation of tank, pump, & heat exchanger nozzles, (4) qualification of equipment mounting, etc
- Develop models and design specifications of structural components

REQUIREMENTS

- 7-30+ years of experience in the nuclear industry, preferably at an operating nuclear power plant
- BS degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Nuclear Modification & Engineering Change Package experience
- You need specific experience with AISC- N690, ACI 318 & 349, and AWS codes
- Experience in FEA: GT Strudl, ANSYS, STAAD, ABAQUS
- Experience in design of connections and able to perform hand calculations of same
- Experience working with a nuclear quality program compliant with 10CFR50 Appendix B, 10CFR21 and ASME NQA-1 is a plus
- Construction site experience involving large civil structures is a plus
