Structural Engineer

Client has an IMMEDIATE NEED for a few Structural Design Engineers with 5+ years of experience working on composite aircraft design and production manufacturing. These are 6-12 month contract assignment located just outside of Los Angles, CA. Our client prefers candidates that are local, but a per diem can be provided for the right candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Reviews, updates, and compiles engineering definition of structural components and assemblies based on records from the prototype build project
- Develops standardized design criteria and templates using model based definition practices
- Establishes manufacturing tolerances for production of structural components using GD&T
- Establishes Product Lifecycle Management architecture using PLM and ERP software
- Assists in creating engineering BOM based on prototype design and build configuration
- Assists in the setup of a configuration management process utilizing PLM software
- Supports the creation of structural test plans which will be used to verify manufacturing processes meet design intent and requirements (according to part 25 FAA requirements)

REQUIREMENTS

- 5+ years' experience in Aircraft Composite fabrication and assembly processes
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- CAD experience -Catia V5 mandatory and CATIA Composites (CPD)
- Experience with Model Based Definition
- Strong GD&T skills through experience and formal training
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management tools (PLM software) and configuration management
- Knowledge and experience with AS9100 a plus
- Applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by the ITAR (22 CFR 120.15)
- Familiar with relevant aerospace standards (FAAASTM, etc). Part 400 knowledge a plus
