Stress Engineer - 3 Months - Leyland

A client based in Leyland is looking for an Senior Stress Engineer. This will be for an initial 6 month contract.

The suitable candidates should have experience of performing static and dynamic stress analysis using classical and Finite Element methods.

Responsibilities

- Working with our design team to find solutions to stress related issues, often within limited timescales.
- Liaison with the Design, Manufacturing and Project Departments to identify ways of reducing Manufacturing/Design Costs without affecting Quality.
- Supporting the preparation of Aerospace and Nuclear bids.
- Attendance at design review/progress
- Attend meetings with our customers

Requirements

- Previous "hand on" experience in the preparation of stress reports for tooling and structures in the Aerospace or Nuclear sectors.
- Experience with the following software: Mathcad, ANSYS, Nastran, Solidworks, CATIA.
- Experience in the design and manufacture of composite components
- Design of mechanical systems and experience of working to BS2573 is desirable
- Effective communication skills are essential.
