Strategic Sourcing Manager Job

STRATEGIC SOURCING MANAGER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in CAMBRIDGE, MA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Develop, implement and maintain the best possible local execution of the global sourcing strategy for all development, clinical trials, research and development professional services related to product development. Perform data/spend analysis to develop category management strategy and track savings and compliance
- Provide input to and support the implementation of national cross-sector, regional and global sourcing initiatives including management of local compliance
- Collaborate with Country Category Organization and global project teams to execute cross-divisional strategic projects and to identify opportunities to leverage spend with cross-divisional networks and resources to maximize benefits to all impacted sites
- Monitors supplier and market conditions and development, trends and economics in order to build and continuously update/maintain local and global market and product knowledge in assigned categories and act as Liaison to Country Category Organization and Global Category Managers identifying and quantifying savings opportunities
- Establish a network with local users to maximize the benefits of local, regional and global supply agreements
- Negotiate/re-negotiate national and local contracts for complex materials and services
- Conduct competitive bid processes using Novartis e-Souring functionality, develop vendor recommendations based on analysis of data and manage approval process through all levels of authorization
- Review commercial terms and recommend action liaise with Law and Insurance departments in the resolution of risk issues
- Qualify, select and manage local suppliers and service provider relationships as required, and aggressively promote use of Preferred Providers and Strategic Partners
- Negotiate, conclude and maintain local supply agreements
- Provide input to and support the implementation of regional and global sourcing initiatives including management of local compliance
- Implement a continuous improvement cycle to realize year on year incremental improvements and cost saving. Obtain timely approval of all savings and ensure projects and savings are timely reported and accurately reflected in SavePlan.
- Manage and resolve supplier performance risks and issues on a timely basis to end user satisfaction
- Work with Business Partners and Procurement Colleagues to leverage spend with cross-divisional networks and resources to maximize benefits to all impacted sites
- Perform, and assist Business Partners in performing, all required compliance activities including Responsible Procurement evaluations, HCP identification and reporting, maintenance and updating of SOPs relating to assigned Categories, response to Audit inquiries and findings.
- Support implementation of procurement initiatives such as eShop, Supplier Information Management and enhancement of current systems (CLM, Emptoris, SavePlan, etc.)
- Perform other duties as required

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- BA/BS required
- Five to seven (5-7) years procurement experience
- Two (2) years experience required within biotechnology product development, clinical trial management or biotechnology research and development or experience with procuring complex products and services
- Experience with outsourcing research development and clinical trial management services
- Expert in contracting and sourcing best practices for CROs, lab services, and clinical trial; data management
