A Strategic Procurement Specialist is required for a 3 month contract based in Leeds for a position within the Procurement Services Team that provides a bespoke service to the NHS.

The suitable Strategic Procurement Specialist will have 5-10 years experience working in a Strategic Procurement position, as well as recent experience working in the public sector (ideally NHS) and strong OJEU knowledge and must hold a CIPS certification.

The Strategic Procurement Specialist should have previously been part of Operational procurement and will be responsible for managing the procurement process and as the Strategic Procurement Specialist you will be able to provide expert skills in support of negotiating a solution that provides value for money, developing and drafting contracts including schedules and service agreements.

The Strategic Procurement Specialist will lead in contract negotiations and will also be responsible for identifying and optimising synergies wherever possible. The Strategic Procurement Specialist must be able to utilise their autonomy to influence commercial decision making by use of their technical, contract, legal skills and market knowledge.

The Strategic Procurement Specialist should have the following:
A proven track record of achievement in delivering major projects within budget, and on time.
Expert knowledge of procurement strategy, relevant legislation and NHS and government policies
Must have knowledge and experience in putting together contracts including terms and conditions and schedules.
Must have experience of working alongside clients to create effective commercial models and to support the drafting of specifications. Project planning and management techniques
Experience of managing complex procurement processes Work experience or knowledge gained through educational qualifications.
