Strategic Planner Lead

Background
Our Central Government client has a need for a Strategic Planner for the next 3 months based in London

Main Duties/Responsibilities

Provide a lead on the strategic planning for the programme.
Design of a planning hierarchy, development of planning standards, ability to coach and lead planning sessions challenging and guiding detailed plan development for mission critical multi supplier agile based programme.
Must be MS Project expert and have experience of complex IT enabled transformation change delivery environments across a national landscape for delivery with 100's of sites impacted and solution roll out planning expertise.
Experience of working in a multi skilled programme delivery environment and detailed understanding of specific public sector challenges and digital agenda.

Skills/Experience Required

Essential
Extensive and detailed planning experience in a public sector multi supplier environment.
Ability to lead and coach in planning theory and practice.
Extensive experience of planning tool sets - expert level in MS Project.
Ability to go from strategic to very detailed levels seamlessly and bring the team and key stakeholders on a common understanding of what we are trying to achieve.

Desirable
Good programme and project management experience in an IT-enabled a transformational change environment in the public sector.

Formal Qualifications Required

MS Project expert level - essential
MSP, Prince 2, Agile SCRUM experience - desirable
