Story Owner

Job description
The Story Owner is responsible for the day to day steering of one or more IT scrum teams. He/she reports directly to the Manager who also has the role of Product Owner.

The Story Owner is the business representative for one or more scrum teams. He/she is responsible for ensuring the user stories for all changes requested from the team are created, prioritising the work for the scrum team, dealing with day to day questions and queries and accepting the deliverables at the end of each sprint, together with the requester.

The Story Owner is responsible for:
* Ensuring that user stories are created in a manner that translates business requirements into language understood by the scrum teams.
* Ensuring that work delivered by the teams is based on business priorities
* Ensuring that alignment takes place with other business units
* Deliveries from the scrum teams are not delayed by impediments.
* Deliveries are to a high quality.
* Motivating the scrum teams.

The core tasks are:
* Ensuring scrum teams are motivated
* Ensuring stories are of a sufficient quality
* Primary contact for business towards IT
* Sprint Planning with the teams
* Attending daily standups and quickly removing any impediments identified
* Grooming (refining) new user stories with the teams
* Prioritising the stories based on overall priorities set by the Product Owner
* Negotiation with other business units to ensure successful delivery
* Review and acceptance of user stories based on high quality deliverables
* Reporting in a timely manner
* Fluent in English, Dutch knowledge is an advantage
* Knowledge of IT development, hands-on development experience is an advantage
* Knowledge of Agile Scrum
* Understanding of the basics of network infrastructure
