We currently require a Stores Operative at HMP Doncaster. This is a fixed term position for 6 months working 39 hours per week: Monday - Thursday 7.00am - 3.30pm, Friday 7.00am - 2.00pm.

HM Prison Doncaster is a Category B men`s private prison, located in the Marshgate area of Doncaster in South Yorkshire, England. It opened in June 1994 with a total capacity of 1,145 male prisoners.

The role of the Stores Operative is to receive, store and issue all delivered goods and to prevent any unauthorised item entering into the prison.

Principal Duties:

- Receive all goods to store checking validity of official order, quantity received against quantity ordered and quality and condition of goods received. Sell by dates and temperatures shall be checked as appropriate when receiving foodstuffs.
- Off load vehicles manually and wherever possible by mechanical means i.e. fork lift truck.
- Transport goods into store area and ensure all items are stocked in suitable locations, complying with all Health & Safety requirements.
- Pick items as requested on Stores Issue Notes
- Check all received items to ensure no unauthorised items are present.
- Log details of serial numbers and brief description of goods prior to obtaining permission to despatch to the prison.
- Provide a quarterly stock count of all stock items.

Skills and Experience:

- Experience in food handling and manual handling would be an advantage.
- Previous experience in a stores environment and operating a fork lift truck would be advantageous although training would be given to the right candidate.
- Full Driver`s Licence & Fork Lift Truck Licence are desirable.
