Principal Duties

Received and checks incoming stores, makes counter issues, enters changes to inventories and records, packages and despatched outgoing stores. Assists the Logistics Supervisor in ensuring compliance with Stores procedures as detailed in JSI Vol 3.

Assists the Supervisor Logistics with input of NATO JEWCS stores requirements using NATO Depot Stores System (NDSS), plus operation of NATO Automated Financial System (NAFS) by entering purchase requests, obtaining reports and entering receipts.

Assists with loading and unloading stores and equipment at the Yeovilton Main Operating Base (MOB). Drives the forklift truck when required. Meets couriers at RNAS Yeovilton main gate to received deliveries.

Ensures all equipment in the custody of the Supply Section is ready for issue and easily located.

Acts as a Deputy NATO JEWCS Contracting specialist under the terms of BiSc Directive 60-70 dated 22 Dec 04 and letter of delegation from MAR CC HQ NORTHWOOD for local purchases.

Prepares reports of Survey for stores which are no longer required, lost or damaged.

Additional Duties

May be called upon to perform like duties elsewhere in ACO, according to the exigencies of the Service.

The incumbent may be required to undertake operational deployments and/or TDY assignments both within and outside NATO`s boundaries.

The incumbent will be required to perform such other related duties as may be directed by the Director NATO JEWCS.

The work is normally performed in a typical office environment, plus handling stores items which may be heavy as well as driving a forklift trunk to handle stores. Normal working conditions apply. The risk of injury is low.

Must be able to liaise effectively, both internally and externally, with military and civilian personnel.

The continued availability of JEWCS training assets depends on an efficient procurement, repair and inventory management system. Operation of NDSS and FinS systems require considerable training and experience at a level which is difficult to maintain for the uniformed staff working in the Logistics section. This post is critical in ensuring continuity and skills necessary for an efficient logistics operation and as a result enhancing JEWCS ability to fulfil its training mission.

Skills & Attributes

YOU MUST ALREADY HOLD SC LEVEL SECURITY CLEARANCE

Recent experience as stores assistant in a technical supply organisation.

Recent experience in operating a computer based logistics inventory management and control programme.

Valid driving licence.

Desirable

Fork Lift Truck Driver.

FinS and NAFS training appropriate to stock management and purchase order progression.
