Storage Specialist - 6 Month Contract

Our client, a large organisation is currently seeking an experienced STORAGE SPECIALIST to provide subject matter advice on storage and data recovery solutions and develop a long term storage strategy.

ASSISTANCE IS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE A NUMBER OF PRIORITY ITEMS. THESE INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

- Development of a storage strategy and associated five year plan
- Audit of existing storage infrastructure, identification of risks and remediation
- Up-skilling of newly formed Servers and Storage group staff
- Reviewing documentation and processes associated with existing storage infrastructure
- Tender process for replacement of existing corporate storage
- Streamlining of data recovery processes

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

- Extensive experience with a major storage vendor/solution such as HP, Dell, NetApp, or EMC.
- Extensive knowledge of, and experience with UNIX, Linux or Windows based systems and associated storage and backup systems in a large scale network environment.
- Demonstrated capacity to fulfil the role of project manager and a sound understanding of and experience in applying project management methodologies in order to ensure that storage projects are completed on time.
