Storage Operations Engineer

Harvey Nash is looking for a Storage operations engineer for a 21 month project in Switzerland.

The role is for a candidate installing, decommissioning, administration, monitoring, maintaining, migrating Storage systems, troubleshooting, advising, instructing and supporting other IT support staff in the event of problems.

You are responsible for
- Implementation, configuration and co-ordination of hardware, software, storage array and component installations
- Coordinating the activities of installation and maintenance activities of suppliers, consultants and support staff
- Installation, administration and maintenance of storage related arrays, fibre channel directors (zoning, masking, disk assignment etc) according to hardware and software engineered standards
- Follow-up on hardware, software, performance and communications problems and invocation of the corrective actions and escalation procedures
- Testing and implementation of new storage related software and hardware products and releases
- Monitoring the availability of hardware, software and networks; maintaining an inventory of hardware, software and networks; update of HPSM changes, tickets and CMDB
- the creation of standardized installation and configuration structures (directory structures, menu systems, user interfaces, backup and recovery procedures)
- theeation and maintenance and update of operating manuals, check lists, and change management documentation

Requirements

- Mandatory installation, administration, troubleshooting and migrations of the technologies Brocade DCX FC directors, FC cabling technologies, zoning, CLI & CMCNE in a large SAN environment.
- Mandatory installation, administration, troubleshooting and migrations of the VMAX technologies including Storage provisioning, OR migrations, SRDF, SNAPs, Uni-sphere
- Mandatory installation, administration, troubleshooting and migrations of VNX2 and Unisphere, provisioning and Snap mirror, SAN copy etc...
- Mandatory installation, administration, troubleshooting and migrations of 3PAR technologies
- > Mandatory installation, administration, troubleshooting and migrations of Netapp and/or Isilon technologies
- Mandatory administration of Data domain setup
