Storage Engineer - Major Blue Chip - Antwerp Region
Technical profile requirements:
Excellent knowledge of Storage Arrays, SAN and NAS and being able to deploy, manage and troubleshoot these environments on a daily base.
Excellent knowledge of common storage provisioning tasks and concepts (Zoning, LUN masking, mapping), preferable HP array stack (P9500, XP, EVA, 3PAR), Netapp NAS array stack (3250, 2040,) & Ctera.
Solve performance issues, performance monitoring, planning and tuning.
Knowledge of Backup concepts and backup technology, specifically NetBackup, including via LAN, via SAN and advanced backup technologies is a plus
Able to integrate his/her technical knowledge and skills in an environment that is highly regulated and subject to different ITIL based processes (Change Management, Incident Management, Asset Management,)
Technical writing skills to write the proper documentation according to internal regulations
Non-Technical profile requirements:
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication and team collaboration skills
Adhere to processes, Quality and Control according to internal and global imposed regulations
Some flexibility in working hours is required (occasional over-time or weekend/holiday work)
On-call permanency is possible
Strong tracking, coordination and project planning skills
Ability to identify and implement process and/or application improvements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Must be able to work on multiple simultaneous tasks with limited supervision
Quick learner, motivated self-starter
Methodology/Certification requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science OR equivalent through experience. Advanced course work in technical systems plus continued education in technical disciplines is preferred
Additional certification is a plus
Language proficiencies:
English spoken and written
Dutch is strongly preferred
SAN environment based on Brocade technology (DCX, Silkworm)
Disk Arrays (HP, NetAPP)
Command View XP, CVAE, Performance Advisor, Command View EVA, Brocade tools BNA, Raid Manager
OS: Vmware, HPUX, Linux, Windows
Positions Tasks and responsibilities:
Project intake, deployment, management, support & troubleshooting of the storage environment in EMEA. This includes the high end data storage, Storage Area Network.
Disk space provisioning to middle and large size systems in different business related projects
Global project member to align the storage worldwide with regards to tooling and/or infrastructure and ability to align with globally imposed processes
Identify optimization opportunities through consolidation or simplification and executes those plans if there are substantial strategic/cost justifications
