EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
What level of education or specialized training is required to perform the job?
- BA/BS in computer science, information systems or equivalent work experience, communications/networking or equivalent required.

List any special certifications, licenses, and/or knowledge requirements for this job:
- MCSE, CCNA, and CCA certifications are preferred.
- IBM TSM Training or Certification is preferred.

How many years of directly related job experience are required to be qualified to enter the job?
- 2 to 3 Years 
- Conceptual knowledge of backup methodologies (full, incremental, differential, image, progressive, on-site, off-site, etc.). 
- Conceptual knowledge of storage devices (optical, disk, Virtual Tape Library, tape, NAS, etc.)
- Familiarity with operating systems concepts, primarily Windows and UNIX.
- Conceptual knowledge of networking concepts (LAN, WAN, SAN).
- Conceptual knowledge of hardware (server, CPU, memory, etc.) for determining client system requirements.
- Working knowledge of the differences between backup and archiving.
- Conceptual knowledge of deduplication.
- Working knowledge of the installation and configuration of the TSM Backup Archive client.
- 3 year's experience configuring, deploying, and maintaining multi-terabyte IBM disk arrays in SAN/NAS configurations.
- 3 years supporting a Storage Area Network in a Linux/Windows environment.
- Well versed in configuring Fibre HBAs. 
- Well Versed with Brocade switch management and FabricOS CLI/Zoning. 
- Logical volume management and setup for Linux and Windows.
- The position requires 3 or more years of progressive technical experience in enterprise level storage environments. 
- The position requires the skills to architect, implement and manage a SAN (Storage Area Network) and NAS (Network Attached Storage). 
- Hands on experience with Compellent Management Tools or any other major SAN technology, IBM's SVC, XIV, DS Series and TPC and as well as director class Switches and high availability SAN configurations is required. 
- Demonstrated knowledge of, abilities to and/or hands-on experience in:

o Linux; Storage Area Network (SAN); Windows, and VMware
o Backup and restore IBM Tivoli Storage Manager databases and storage pools
o Write and use macros and scripts to automate operations
o Optimize IBM Tivoli Storage Manager with performance tuning parameters
o Install and configure Tivoli Common Reporting
o Use client and server trace functions
o Troubleshoot and recover from a database failure
o Recover a primary storage pool
o Configure and use server-to-server virtual volumes
o Configure and use backup sets, and online image backup
o Configure and use multi-session backup and move node data

Job Description: JOB SUMMARY
The Security Administrator, working in a team environment, maintains Storage and backup systems. The Storage Administrator is responsible for maintaining enterprise level storage infrastructure, Dell/Compellent devices, fibre channel Switches, tape libraries and backup disk storage systems. A successful candidate will have 2+ years' experience in enterprise level storage administration. A strong background in Microsoft Windows, Linux, VMWare and IBM Tivoli Storage Manager is required

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

- Provide technical support and issues resolution of all Linux and Windows-based Servers storage pools.
- Establish, run, monitor and document Servers backups
- Manage SAN/NAS storage provisioning
- Backup and storage capacity management
- Automate daily, weekly and monthly backup reporting
- Maintain hardware, NOS, Security and system patches on all Linux and Windows Servers.
- Maintain LAN/WAN connectivity and services for backup system requirements
- Maintain VMware backups
- Maintain EMC and Compellent SAN infrastructure.
- Maintain network applications - including DHCP, WINS, DNS, and ADS.
- Maintain backup and recovery operations using TSM, Volume Shadow Copy, and SAN Replays.
- Manage system security and user profiles.
- Produce and maintain procedural documentation.
- Assist team members on projects and Servers preparations.
- Resolve assigned Helpdesk tickets.
- Provides 24-hour on-call support for problem analysis and resolution, as part of the on-call rotation.
