6 month fixed term contractOur client is a leading financial services company based in Edinburgh. They require a Statutory and Challenge Manager to join their team. The teams primary roles are to review and challenge core and quarterly supplementary data from the businesses and functions, as well as manage changes in Statutory reporting requirements and deliver effective process improvements. Key Responsibilities:*Preparation and ownership of key financial disclosures in Annual Report and Accounts and bi-annual Company Announcements. *Quarterly review and challenge of core data disclosures and supplementary data collection for inclusion in quarterly Interim Management Statements *Managing key finance and functional relationships, including quarterly debrief and briefing as well as the preparation and delivery of financial disclosure Knowledge pools *Monthly Balance sheet review process including presentation of balance sheets to senior management *Monthly review and challenge of spot and average balance sheets and statutory income statements *Development of the supplementary data collection processes and provide in-depth guidance on data requirements and financial reporting instructions *Support the delivery and implementation of relevant aspects of the Finance transformation programmeAbout You:*Qualified Accountant (CA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent)*Ability to work in an autonomous environment, prioritising workload and meeting team deliverables in a time-pressured situation*Exposure to, understanding of and appetite to explore International Accounting Standards*Be an effective ambassador for the Statutory Review and Challenge team, liaising with key contacts across finance*Confidence and ability to understand, challenge and translate financial data, highly numerate with an understanding or experience of consolidation principles*System knowledge of Walker/HFM/INEA/Oracle would be beneficial*Strong influencing, negotiation and communication skills as well as strong engagement and presentation skills. *Ability to manage internal and external relationships
