Statutory Accountant

An exciting opportunity for a financial reporting accountant has arisen to join a top tier bank in Bristol, within the life, pensions and insurance division. The purpose of the role is to assist in the preparation of financial statements and statutory accounts as the year end approaches. CONTRACT: 6 months

RATE: £260-£280

LOCATION: BRISTOL

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

*Prepare monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis and an ability to explain these movements

*Prepare year end subsidiary statutory accounts and assist with the external audit process

*Provide tight financial control over the Balance Sheet and mitigate any risks to the P&L account

*Ensure the successful delivery of the subsidiary financial statements on time and in accordance with internal policy and external deadlines, effectively reporting progress and escalating issues to line manager

*Identify and assist in the implementation of process changes to enhance efficiency

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

- Experience working within the 'big four'
- Qualified or part qualified accountant
- Three years' experience in financial reporting
- Good Communication skills
- Attention to detail
