Stanford Bioengineering Dry Laboratory Lecturer

The Department of Bioengineering is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Lecturer to help develop and teach undergrad technology design courses for the undergraduate major. This position will be a full-time, one year fixed term position that may be eligible for renewal, based on satisfactory performance, the existence of funding, and programmatic need. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate education to teach some of the nation's top students.

The Lecturer will help to lead several classes, including a course focused on instrumentation and design for bioengineers, as well as a senior "capstone" class in which teams of students will integrate knowledge they have learned over the entire bioengineering curriculum to design and build innovative biological and/or medical devices and tools. The Lecturer will be dedicated to teaching fundamental design and prototyping methods (including mechanical, optical and electrical technologies) and critical thinking central to the engineering of biological and medical technologies. The Lecturer will also work closely with multiple Stanford faculty, staff and industry experts in the development and preparation of curriculum and laboratory/prototyping materials. The Lecturer will have primary responsibility for operations of the biodesign teaching studio, including laboratory preparation and supervisory responsibility for technical staff. The Lecturer will also serve as a liaison between faculty and staff to identify and promote cross-course and curriculum opportunities.
