Staff Accountant II

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The responsibilities will include: review of multiple automated journal entries generated from the Contracts application to record monthly amortization expense; preparation of complex manual journal entries as needed; analysis of monthly actual to forecast variances for programming amortization expense by programming type and by department to identify key business drivers; reconciliation of month-end balance sheet accounts to the  subsidiary ledger and identification, documentation and resolution of any reconciling items.

Other functions include: preparation of audits of licensed programming contracts entered into the Contracts application; participation in the review of the contractual monthly license fee payments generated from the Contracts application to ensure accuracy and compliance with SOX key controls; preparation of basic Division and Corporate financial schedules for monthly, quarterly, and annual deliverables for both the PL and Balance Sheet; monitor and review of accounting transactions and procedures on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance with GAAP (primarily ASC 920, Entertainment - BroadcastersMasters Degree or CPA (a plus). The candidate should have strong Excel spreadsheet and analytical skills. PeopleSoft, Hyperion, and Essbase experience is desirable but not required.
