SSRS Administrator - 4 Month Project

JOB TITLE: SSRS Administrator

LOCATION: Minneapolis, MN

CONTRACT LENGTH: 4 Months

Enclipse Corp. is in need of a SQL Server Report Services (SRSS) Administrator to administer our Minneapolis-based customer's SSRS Servers. This person will also inventory and document contents of existing SQL Servers to be used as an input to a server virtualization project.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK TO BE PERFORMED AND THE SPECIFIC SKILL SETS NEEDED:

Configure, secure, and maintain report server deployments.
-

Determine report access and availability by specifying role assignments, report execution and data source property settings, and determining the availability of optional features.
-

May also be called upon to troubleshoot problems, and monitor and optimize report server performance.

Must also understand the network topology and configuration of the computers used to host and access SQL Server Reporting Services components.
-

Onboard SSRS developers as far as introducing them to the architecture of the county's SSRS server environment.

Develop, implement and share best practices and standards for Report Server Administration.

Provide mentoring in SSRS Administration for newly trained county IT staff
-

Perform complete analysis and assessment of existing physical SQL Server environment to ensure compatibility of hardware, operating systems, database tools and applications.

Determine hardware, software and configuration requirements and assist with setup and configuration of virtual server environment.

Develop plan to migrate SQL Server databases to a virtual environment
-

Work with DBAs, System Engineers, Developers and support staff to coordinate and implement plan.

Minimum three years recent experience administering SSRS and SQL Servers.
-

Minimum three years recent experience in a Microsoft SQL server environment (2005, 2008, 2012).

Minimum three years recent experience with Windows Server (2003, 2008)

Working knowledge of system virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)

Application connectivity to SQL Server (.NET, ODBC, etc .)

LIST OF DELIVERABLES:

Create new and/or maintain existing SSRS Administration documentation including architecture diagrams, role assignments, security settings and other.
-

Develop a detail implementation plan to migrate SQL Servers to a virtual environment.

Create new/maintain SQL Server environment documentation including architecture diagrams, database inventory, jobs, storage, security, linked Servers, connectivity/configuration settings and other dependencies.

Prepare document detailing analysis, assessment and recommendation
-

Weekly status reports.
-

Timesheet documentation in support of invoiced time.
-

Active project team member.
-

Adherence to customer's Non-discrimination and Respectful Workplace policy.
