ESSENTIAL DUTIES The Senior Director, Business Development will have the following primary responsibilities: * Work with the Vice President of BD to create a business development strategy and then a road map to execute on that strategy, including the targeting of appropriate businesses opportunities that will have significant impact to the Company. These may include collaborations, M&A activity and in and out- licensing initiatives. * Lead the identification and assessment of potential acquisitions and licensing opportunities *Work collaboratively with other key functions, such as legal, medical, regulatory, finance and marketing to ensure the free flow of information and ideas. * Develop the rationale for BD opportunities identified and ensure that there is a detailed and logical analysis of data. * Maintain a strong network of clinical, academic and industry contacts and be organizationally savvy with an inherent knowledge of how to make approaches to key executives at the most appropriate level to open discussions. * Effectively position my clients technology platform and capabilities with potential development partners in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. * Effectively position my clients Therapeutics as a viable potential partner for in-licensing and co-promotion opportunities. * Monitor the progress of internal development projects in preparation for potential out-licensing opportunities and maintain current knowledge of external developments in chosen therapeutic areas and appropriately keep key functions updated as to competitor and other relevant data. * Help to create the appropriate financial modeling for potential deals. Conduct the initial approaches to potential partners, establish and build on relationships as appropriate. * Ensure that comprehensive due diligence is completed on compounds and other opportunities that are of potential interest. * Lead or support initial negotiation activity and oversight of the compilation of potential deal terms. * Ensure that throughout all activity, the potential business partner is informed of progress and expectations. * Coordination of requests for Confidential Disclosure Agreements and confidential presentations by potential partners.
