Sr./Design Technologist

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Build high-quality, functional prototypes, frameworks, and tools for new, digital wellness experiences.
- Produce high-quality, innovative, cohesive deliverables that are customer-focused, simple and intuitive.
- Participate in the full life cycle of product development; including ideation, design, feasibility and assessment, development, implementation, usability refinement and testing.
- Create documentation, requirements, and specifications to support development.
- Collect and analyze data to support further iteration and decision making.
- Work collaboratively with designers, product managers, management, internal business partners, and other subject matter experts.

Desired Skills and Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in the sciences, engineering, or a creative discipline is required
- At least 5 years of software development background, with 2+ focused on Mobile development
- Ability to develop for Web, Android or iOS platforms
- Experience with rich user interfaces, object-oriented design, data modelling, application development, and taking projects through an entire software release life cycle is preferred
- Strong written/oral communication skills and a willingness to contribute to inline code documentation
- Knowledge in Qt and QML/Quick is a big plus
- Strong experience with data visualization is also a big plus
- Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD/ATDD) or Behavior Driven Development (BDD) will be strongly appreciated
- Strong understanding of UX/UI frameworks
- Familiarity with rapid prototyping
- Collaborative and able to work with other developers and interdisciplinary teams (eg. UX/UI, research, product)
- Ideal candidates will also have a portfolio of their recent work history showcasing successful software releases (particularly those which used iterative/agile methodologies such as scrum or feature driven development) and demonstrate a passion for current technology trends and best practices.
