Software Developer/Senior Developer

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a niche market leader servicing the technology needs of the alternative investment industry (hedge funds, private equity funds and fund of funds). You will be helping clients improve alpha, improve efficiency and enable strong controls through a combination of custom development and series of proprietary products (marketed under Cosmos brand).
The development teams work in globally distributed manner collaborating across various offices based on client goals and follow agile development/implementation methodologies. There is strong emphasis on domain knowledge/orientation, technical excellence and teamwork. Development team members can expect to be assigned to internal product development, client implementation projects or custom development for specific clients/funds. The team members will be responsible for programming to the agreed timelines, managing client expectations and managing/collaborating with colleagues globally.

Responsibilities

*Writing software programs in .NET/C# compliant with product/client architecture
*Take ownership of tasks/projects and prepare designs/plans to meet client/internal product needs
*Understand requirements from clients and suggest appropriate solution options leveraging custom development.
*Maintaining high coding and system design standards across the team
*Motivated and committed to succeed in tightly knit/globally distributed teams to meet tight deadlines from functionally demanding clients
*Learning about alternative investment industry and generating ideas to grow client footprint/new product ideas

Qualifications
*Application Design - Should have good design fundamentals and knowledge of architectural patterns. UML like Class diagram, Entity Relationship diagram, State and Activity diagram. Knowledge of common design patterns like factory, producer/ consumer, singleton, MVC are must.
*Strong object-oriented design and development experience in .NET Technology (C#,ASP .Net, WPF, WCF etc), Component and web-based technologies (ActiveX, SOAP, HTML, XML, XSL, IIS, ASP, VBScript, JavaScript).
*Relational database development in SQL Server-All versions (2005/2008/2010).
*B.S. / M.S. in Computer Science or an Engineering discipline
*4-8 years of technical experience on .Net technology
*Experience in front/middle/back office automation areas like Order Management System, Portfolio Accounting Management System, Reconciliation, Security & Market Data Management etc.
*Experience in Design tools like Rational rose or Visio.
