Sr Solutions Developer - Solr, Lucene, Java

Top financial institution in NYC looking for a talented Senior Software Developer to join their Foundational Services/Search Solutions team. This is a great opportunity to join a new team that's focused on delivering my client's standard Search Engine platform for search related activities that can be leveraged by a variety of Applications. The vision is to build and support a core search engine that can be targeted and customized towards different Verticals of application needs for domain-specific searches.

The right candidate will be extremely strong in Java as well as being an expert in Solr and Lucene. You will be expected to design and build the core search platform used by my client on a daily basis. You must be able to work independently, research and investigate solutions and recommend alternatives when faced with challenging situations. Candidates must have a passion for technology and a flexible, creative approach to problem solving. The successful candidate will have a solid track record developing large scale distributed indexing and search systems.

Qualifications:

- 3+ years experience in software development
- Expert in Solr & Lucene
- Very strong knowledge in Java
- Experience with building large-scale distributed indexing & search systems
- Excellent problem solving and multi-tasking skills, with a creative and flexible attitude
- Project management and leadership experience is a plus
