SQL Server SSAS Cubes Developer - English Speaking Contract in Zürich

For a global bank based here in Zürich we are looking for a SQL Server Business Intelligence expert to join a project.

THE COMPANY AND THE PROJECT:

The department serves the Private Banking unit with Business Intelligence Solutions and Sales tools for the PB salesforce (6000 RM's). The BIS (Business Information & Systems) Applications team provides IT services as maintenance, enhancement and development for BIS applications in terms of standard reporting and BI solutions. The BI2 application is a key strategic project providing Standard Reporting and Self Service BI capabilities to the business. Standard Reporting covers a number of different business areas including Client Reporting, Product Reporting and Performance Reporting. Self Service BI provides a framework and environment of tools and capabilities for business users to develop adhoc solutions according to demand from end users including regulatory and compliance departments. Microsoft BI tools are used extensively in our projects with Oracle used as the primary database.

THE ROLE AND KEY TASKS:

Standard Reporting platform for Private Banking BI uses Cubes for each subject area which are specifically designed and optimized for the reporting requirements of that area. The business logic is complex and the developer must be familiar with working with large non-transactional data warehouses and managing complex multi-dimensional structures.

- Design, develop and optimize multi-dimensional Data Bases and structures in a Microsoft environment (SSAS cubes).
- Tune and Improve performance both load time and query time of SSAS cubes.
- On regular basis interact and collaborate with team members in Zurich and Wroclaw
- Advise business reporting engineers and users on the best way to implement their solutions
- Provide day-2-day technical support to reporting developers and Production team

WE ARE LOOKING FOR CANDIDATES WITH:

- CUBE DEVELOPMENT USING SQL SERVER ANALYSIS SERVICES (SSAS)
- Strong end-2-end Microsoft Business Information skills (SSAS, SSRS, TSQL, SQL Server)
- Command of conceptual Database Modelling (Relational DB's)
- Command of Microsoft Analysis Services, MDX Development and OLAP cube principles and concepts
- Strong communication skills in English to be able to communicate and manage demanding business users
- Ability to be able to work concurrently on a number of different topics and to be able to change focus quickly as needed
- Oracle experience beneficial
- Ability to be able to architect new solutions and coordinate technical solutions with Architects, security and risk specialists
- Opportunity to take higher responsibility for BI and DWH
