SQL Server DBA - Manufacturing Background

My client is currently looking for a SQL Server DBA to join their team in Belfast on a 3-6 month contract.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSBILITIES:
A bright, passionate Database Administrator is required to join an expanding IT team, to build, support, maintain and performance optimise the database Back End systems that drive multiple production web based applications.
The candidate will have a proven track record of supporting large customer facing infrastructure estates, along with expertise in SQL Server, wintel and network technologies.
THE ROLE WILL ENCOMPASS:
- Support and administration of the production hosted environments.
- Configuration, testing and deployment of production database infrastructure.
- Performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Planning, implementation and maintenance of security.
- Supporting and enforcing the change management process.
- Alert and incident management.
- Resolution of issues in a timely manner, to agreed service levels
- Availability monitoring and SLA reporting.
- Maintaining system documentation and configuration management.
- Capacity planning and sizing
- Supporting team projects effectively and to agreed timescales.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Expert in configuring, implementing and supporting high availability database Servers.
- Ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot and resolve live database system issues.
- Expert understanding of MS SQL 20012 & 2014 databases including design, maintenance, performance tuning and query optimisation.
- Expert understanding of MS SQL Server Replication, including transactional and snapshot methods.
- Expert understanding of MS Windows 2012 & 2014 Server architecture, administration and security
- Solid understanding of database clusters.
- Solid grasp of networking technologies including Switches, load balancers and Firewalls including site to site VPNs
- Solid understanding of DNS
- Understanding of networking & load balancing principals
- Understanding of PowerShell Scripting.
- Understanding of MS IIS 7.5 & 8.5 web server technologies
- Experience with administering, supporting & design virtualisation environments (VMware)
- Experience with working in software development life cycles
- Exposure to MS Active Directory
- Have a can do' attitude
- Demonstrable ability to deliver to business requirements
- Willingness to learn and have the desire to develop personal skill sets
- Team player - ability to work well with team members and with other teams to deliver solutions
- A self-starter - ability to work independently but stay focused on delivery to agreed requirements
